CASA DUCCI
PEDRIGAL, CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO
How it began...Truly a dream project for SWD. 18 months of planning, designing, shipping, travel and a few obstacles/setbacks have resulted in a home we are truly proud of. Situated in the private community of Pedregal, our homeowners found a diamond in the rough. This jagged rough orange house did not play nice with the beautiful neutral back drop of its surroundings. Along with our talented local architect, Casa Ducci is now ready for everyone to enjoy.
What came to be...Our design goal was to modernize the home to suit current vacation lifestyles while maintaining the charm of the rough mountain it sits on. We wanted this space to feel approachable. Nothing is too precious, but the sophistication is apparent. Casa Ducci is a place where you can feel comfortable, protected and disconnect from the world outside. We infused a calmness and warmth to the decor that lends a feeling of serenity without overshadowing the surroundings. When you have such spectacular views the furnishings don’t need to be complicated. The interior and exterior furnishings have been carefully chosen to balance the weight of the view.
THE FIVE YEAR PLAN
How it began... Our clients are empty nesters and will be residing in the family home for 5 more years. This can be tricky to navigate. The timing was too soon to downsize the home, but our clients still wanted an update so they can enjoy the space. Carefully consideration was taken on every single penny spent.
What came to be...We focused on the kitchen and primary ensuite. The two most used rooms as well as the most important for re-sale. Full gut renovations of both spaces have added value to the home and made it unique in comparison to the rest of the other homes in the neighborhood . This renovation allowed our homeowners to be excited about their home once again and now focus on the future and beginnings to come.
DONNA’S HAPPY PLACE
How it began... Our homeowners have 2 young boys living in the home but it was time for “Mom” to have her happy place. An all white space was the dream. This is one of the hardest designs to get right. SWD was up for the challenge.
What came to be...We layered in multiple textures and tones to accomplish the look. Lots of whites, creams, caramel and juxtapositions of black allow for the space to feel warm and inviting while still reading as white. The kitchen had a facelift as did the fireplace. All furnishings are new.
